General Questions

Q. Why should we choose you over all the many other church website providers out there?
A.

Most church website providers are template based sites.Though they may change a graphic or 2 and some colors, all the websites they create look almost exactly the same in layout/structure. This is why their prices are often so cheap. Their are also the church website providers out there that provide custom designs but cost thousands of dollars to startup and hundreds to maintain a month. We are looking to be right in the middle, by offering beautiful custom designs at affordable prices.

We also provide all, and in most cases, MORE features than the other church website providers out there (ie. sermon streaming, e-commerce, etc).

Most importantly though, you want to go with someone who you can always reach and who will always put you, the customer, first. We strive everyday for that excellent customer service. Thats why we've put multiple ways for you to get in touch with us on our website.

 

Q. Are any contracts required?
A.

No. If you decide to pay upfront for the whole year and STAY for the whole year, we give you your last 2 months free.

If you do pay upfront for the whole year, you can still get a refund for the unused portion if you decide to leave.

Q. Who owns the website if we don't want to keep using your services and want to take the website elsewhere?
A.

All the content on the site that you've written, and collected is yours. The graphics that we have created as well as the layout are ours and cannot be taken with you until a period of 2 years is over. Once 2 years has passed, you are free to take your design and any graphics we have created for you and do whatever you want with the church website design we created for you. Because we don't make you sign any long term contracts, it is too easy for people to use our services, take all our work, and then leave soon after. This is our way of protecting ourselves from this.

 

Q. Once we have the website up and running, what do we do?
A.

Once your website is up and running, we will have you create an account on your website. We will then assign you to be a super administrator, which will enable access to all the features that come with the site. You have access to our full online help site that offers step by step documentation on how to use all features so you know how to run the website without having a phd in web programming!!

There are some settings that are not documented however due to the nature of every site being unique in how it is setup, so if you need help with something, we will be glad to guide you through it over the phone or through our live help option on this website.

 

Q. How long will it take from the time we send you our information and pay, till the time when the website is up and running, and ready for us to use?
A.

It takes about 15 business days to complete your church website and get your church up and running, once you send us back the content form we ask you to fill out.

Q. What is the design and implementation fee for?
A.

This is a one time only fee that covers:


Custom design
Custom graphics
Setting up the content management system for your specific church needs
Setting up your own server space
Custom programming for your specific church needs


Q. Do we send you photos to use for the website or do you provide us with them?
A.

We do most of the graphic design creation with our own graphics. This allows us to maintain the high quality of the website look. Because we set ourselves apart from other church website creation companies by not only offering an easy to use content management system but by also offering extremely high quality designs and layouts, it is important for us to have this control.

HOWEVER, if you have certain graphics you want to be a part of the website, there is a place in the content form you fill out where you can submit them to us, and we will do our best to integrate them into the site somewhere. There is no guarantee though that all the graphics you provide will be used in the actual layout of the site.


Q. Can I get the e-commerce option with the basic package?
A.

Yes. For an additional one time $350.00 fee.

Domains & Hosting

Q.

We already have a domain name. How do we set that up to work with our new Church Website?

A.

Once the website we create is ready for your church, we will send you instructions on how to point your current domain name to the new website. It typically takes about 1-10 hours once you change the nameservers associated with your domain name to actually point to the website we've created.

If you have any problems doing this, we can do it for you for free.

 

Q. Do we have to host with you or can we use our current web host?
A.

In order to have full control over the content management system and ensure that it works properly, you need to use our      servers. This lets us easily troubleshoot any problems that may arise as well. It also enables us to add paid features you      request and guarantee you that they will work properly.

Q. Do we get access to our FTP space also or just the control panel of our church website?
A.

You get access to both the FTP server your website is on and the control panel of your church website. Once your website is online, we will send you a username and password for you to be able to login to your FTP server in case you want to upload files to it.

You also get access to the cpanel of your domain name, which is where you can setup all your email addresses and passwords.


Q.

    We don't have a domain name yet. How do we get one?

A.

You can either register a domain name yourself or have us do it for you for $10 (that covers the cost of the domain name). If you do it yourself, we recommend godaddy.com, registerfly.com or register.com

Email

Q. How many email addresses do we get?
A.

Each package comes with more than enough emails for you and your staff. 50 for the Basic Package. Unlimited emails for the Pro Package and Premiere Package.

Q. Can we receive our email through a website?
A.

Yes, web mail is free for all customers on any package plan.

 

Q. Can we receive our email through outlook or outlook express?
A.

Yes, if you want to receive your email through outlook or outlook express, we will send you detailed instructions on how to      set that up if you choose.

Q. I already have an email address setup with my other host. Will that transfer over?
A.

Once your domain name points to our servers, your email address will be the same as it was with the other host. However,       you will need to re-add your email names to the control panel. We give you specific documentation on how to do this. If you      have any problems doing this, contact us and we can guide you through it one on one.

Pricing

Q. What does the price per month cover?
A.

The price you pay per month covers the use of our customized content management system, special features (such as sermon manager, advanced calendar, etc), the web hosting, and support with ANY issue you may have.

 

Q. Can we host the website ourselves, so that we do not have to pay the monthly fee?
A.

In order to have full control over the content management system and ensure that it works properly, you need to use our servers. This lets us easily troubleshoot any problems that may arise as well. It also enables us to add paid features you request, upgrade current features, and guarantee you that the system as a whole will work properly.

Your monthly fee is also payment for the use of our content management system. If you were to host your site on a different web host, the content management system would not be available for you to use.

 

Q. What is the design and implementation fee for?
A.

This is a one time only fee that covers:


Customized church website design
Customized graphics
Setting up the content management system
Setting up your own server space
Customizing the software to your specific site for your specific church needs


Q. Can I upgrade to a different price package if I choose to at a later date?
A.

Yes. Just email us to let us know which package you want to upgrade to, and we will just adjust your monthly charge, starting on the date the site is upgraded.


Q. Do you offer any type of refund?
A.

Your first monthly payment will be refunded if you request one within 30 days of receiving your finished website.

Your design & implementation fee cannot be refunded once you receive your website, unless you are requesting one due to a problem you have that we cannot resolve. We do as much as we can to show you the system control panel ahead of time and work with you to make sure your website looks the way you want. Keep in mind, we have made every effort to keep the D&I fee low in the first place, as other church website providers are charging up to 10x this amount for the same professional design without offering refunds either. This is also to keep away customers who have no intention of keeping a website and just want to test our system out.

If you decide to pay for the whole year in advance,
and decide to leave before the year is over, we WILL refund you the monthly payments (not the D&I fee) you did not use on a pro-rated basis.

Website Manager

Q. Is any training required to use the website manager?
A.

We give you access to our special help website that includes step by step documentation to help you along the way and to guide you. Most of the features are simple and straightforward however, and can be used by anyone with minimal computer knowledge. If for any reason you need help or have problems, give us a call, email us, or contact our live support online.

 

Q. Can we upload our own graphics to put in articles?
A.

Yes. Adding an image to an article or section of your website is easy. The interface for typing out your content and adding images is the same as your average word processor program. To add a picture, you would simple press the image button in the toolbar, click the browse button to find the graphic on your computer, and click the upload button. Its that simple. More detailed instructions come in the documentation we send you.

 

Q. Can we give only certain staff members the ability to add content? And can they each have their own account?
A.

There are 4 different groups a super administrator can assign to people, 3 of which can edit content on the site:

Registered: CANNOT edit or submit content to the website. This is the user group automatically assigned to users who register through the front end of your website. This is usually for your normal church member. They CANNOT see the frontend control panel.

Editor: Can submit and edit events to the website, but the submissions will not go live to the site until they are approved by the administrator.

Publisher : Can submit and edit events to the website instantly without any approval

Author: Can only edit the page you assign to them and nothing else

Q. What does 'Free Software Updates' mean?
A.

Because the content management system is online, we are able to periodically update the software to support new features. You will receive all updates to your content management software for free!

 

Q. Can I change the design of my website at a later date?
A.

Yes. If you want to update your site with a completely new layout, it will cost between $1500-$2000 (which is half off the normal price!). All your content will automatically fit into the new design with our system and will not have to be reformatted.

 

Q. What if I cant figure out how to do something with the website even after reading the documentation?
A.

If you cannot figure out how to do something with the website, please contact us and we can either show you how to do it through our live online support, or do it for you... for free!
